MARCUS COLLINS: My Journal

Just finished another gig with The Texas Tenors!  Never thought in 2009 that forming this group would lead to this. We hoped, but we have truly made a career out of The Texas Tenors combining Opera, Country, Pop, Broadway and Gospel.  I have been working on final mixes of our sophomore album YOU SHOULD DREAM.  It has been over a year now that we've been working on it, but its almost ready and we think the hard work has paid off.  We'll let you all be the judge of that.  I am back in the studio on Monday for the last round of tweaks and I am nervous and excited to get it finished and ready for mastering.  The title says it best..You SHOULD Dream.   

What a year we've had since coming in 4th on America's Got Talent a year ago this week. We've traveled the world and had the opportunity to perform for thousands of people in the last year and we're already booked for shows through 2012. We're currently in the UK finishing up a tour. We're really looking forward to coming home to the US and doing our show at The Starlight Theater in Branson before hitting the road again. Thank you to everyone for all your love and support!

Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for your support and for calling in to vote for The Texas Tenors on America's Got Talent. Thanks to you we came in 4th place out of over 100,000 acts that auditioned to be on the show. We're very happy and very proud to have made it all the way to the finals.

We weren't sure what our future had in store for us but we soon found out it was a LIVE Show in Las Vegas, NV with Jerry Springer at The Planet Hollywood!

We're currently doing AMERICA'S GOT TALENT - LIVE at The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip! The coolest thing was seeing our photo on the giant jumbo tvs outside the casino.

We will be in the LIVE show weekly from October 7 to December 13. Check the Planet Hollywood Hotel website for ticket information.

If you come to see the show at Planet Hollywood please stay in the theater lobby near the booth that sells our CDs after the show and we will come out to meet you in person! And bring your camera!

There are a lot of excellent things brewing on the horizon these days!!! This Spring looks like it will be BUSY! BUSY! I am working on some things I can't talk about yet, but when I can you'll hear it here first! Have a great spring!

I just filmed an episode of The Sarah Conner Chronicles. It was a very cool experience. We had special FX, lightning, explosions, fire...very cool! We filmed on the backlot on Warner Bros. I played a prizefighter in the 1920's. Its episode 12 of this season! Don't miss it!

Welk Resort San Diego offers live theatre at the 339-seat theatre, which includes a dinner buffet option and museum of Lawrence Welk's life. The Welk Resort Theatre is home to top-notch actors and musicians, performing Broadway style musicals.

It is official! I will be playing the part of Matthew in the off-Broaday Hit ALTAR BOYZ. I begin rehearsals next month!

What a fun day. I just did a stint on "Everbody Hates Chris"...I played WHITE JACKIE ROBINSON!!! I posted a couple pics in the photo gallery. The best part..the episode was directed by Debbie Allen. Its Episode #49 for next season..Ill keep you posted on the airdates!!!

I just finished my fourth day on the film GET SMART. The filming days have been pretty long days. It is a very nice set. The cast and crew are very friendly. Ann Hathaway, who plays Agent 99, noticed a group of kids across the street who were all excited to see her and she actually went over and said hello, signed autographs, posed for pictures! She's very cool!

Sometimes a job comes along thats so much fun its hard to classify it as work!!! I got a chance to be the face of Carnby in a new version of the XBOX game "Alone in the Dark". It was such an awesome experience acting out all of the sequences in the game...have to admit Im kinda of a nerdy gamer at heart and this was like a dream come true. Im not sure what the exact release date is for the game, but Ill post it as soon as I find out.

The producer said that the actual virtual reality figure might not look exactly like me because of computer generation, but its face should have quite a few of my features and expressions!! Too funny!

I just completed a day of filming on a new pilot for ABC called "Traveling in Packs". I played MAN IN BED.. gotta love that. Who knows if it will get picked up, but I got to work with THE MAN when it comes to the sitcom Jim Burrows...he directed quite a few episodes of Cheers, Will and Grace, as well as many many others... Came right up to me and introduced himself, explained the scene, thanked me for taking the part and being a part of the show. He didnt have to say a word to me...now thats a class act!

I just spent the day with the producers/creative team for the first regional production of
ALTAR BOYZ! I have a long history with this show and the intense audition process that goes along with it! The meeting/audition was great. We are in talks about a production that will go up in Long Beach, CA. I auditioned for the part of LUKE. It is a demanding part and the dancing kicked my a**, but it was such a good experience and the production team is really nice. I don't know anything yet, but I will keep you posted!

I cant even begin to describe the amazing experience I had on the set of this movie. The highlight was definitly dancing with Lisa Kudrow and doing an impression of Valerie Cherish for her!!! She is a remarkable and talented woman. The director Richard LaGravenese, who also wrote the screenplay, is quite a man. He made the set feel comfortable..was very friendly, and created a positive atmosphere! I think Richard has quite a film on his hands.

I start filming Gracie tomorrow and returned to SNL for the season prem several weeks ago...

Start work on the Jodi Foster film "The Brave One" tomorrow. I have no idea what Im doing or what time yet, but hey thats how it goes....

We just taped the season finale of Saturday Night Live. It was so much fun...

I just finished two LONG days on the set of "Perfect Stranger". It was an amazing experience.
DAY ONE:
I ended up being Heidi Klum's date to the big ad agency party at Cipriani's. I sat at the principal table next to Heid and across from Bruce Willis. They were all very friendly, in fact Bruce ended up talking and joking with the table the whole night to pass the time. What an experience.
DAY TWO:
Today was pretty much general background activity crossing back and forth behind Halle Berry as she delivered her lines. Ms. Berry was very nice as well. She actually attended to an extra who almost twisted her ankle. She went over to her during a break to make sure she was ok and gave her a hug. A class act!
Well no more "Perfect Stranger" for me until March 6th.

I just found out that I will be filming more than one scene in the film PERFECT STRANGER! It looks like I will be in 9 scenes with 12 days of shooting. FUN! FUN!

Hey everyone, well I just got word that I'll be filming a scene in the movie Perfect Stranger. It stars Bruce Willis and Hally Berry. Im not sure exactly what Im doing yet, but Ill keep you posted. Take care everyone, and I hope the you're new year is bright and happy so far.

It is officially time to start a new year that I'm sure will be full of surprise and adventure for everyone!!! I am very excited because I start filming "El Cantante tomorrow! I think it is going to be really fun. The movie stars Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Take care everyone and enjoy the new year!!!!!

I am working on SNL for the first time. I have no idea what to expect, but I'm sure it will be a great experience. I have rehearsal today at 2:30. I'm actually going in to NBC to work! Last time I was there I only auditioned for Passions so I'm pretty excited!
